Survey Resaerch

We are stream-lining the certification procedures, and developing countermeasure-technologies against new products and technologies of overseas competitors.

This program is designed to promote fire-fighting industry and enhance international competitive power by managing the organization specialized in the standardization of fire-fighting industry, the only one in Korea.
Purpose
Efficient development of the technologies, human resource, quality improvement and standardization in fire-fighting industry.
Objects
- Fire-fighting equipments: Article 2, Attached Table, Enforcement Decree of Fire-Fighting Industry Promotion Act.
- Technology: technical standard, testing and inspection method and procedures by equipment.
- Human resource: training & education program for the human resources in fire-fighting industry.
Concept of Standardization
- Standardization is to set up a reasonable standard for things, concepts, methods or procedures so that most of people can follow the standard.
- Standardization can improve and maintain the uniformity of quality and technologies, productivity, save cost, and promote international trade with synergy effect.

- Establishment, amendment, abolition, and distribution of the standards of fire-fighting equipments.
- Search, research and development of the domestic and international standards of fire-fighting equipments.

Demand Survey of Fire Industry and
Operation of
Disclosure-Specialized Organization
This program is designed to survey and publicize the demand and investment management plan for fire-fighting equipments through the operation of the only Demand Survey of Fire Industry and Operation of Disclosure-Specialized Organization in Korea to promote and support business operations and plan-based production of fire-fighting industry.
Purpose
To survey the demand and investment management plan for fire-fighting equipments of the central and local governments and public organizations, to promote and support business operations and plan-based production of fire-fighting industry.
Scope of Program
- Survey the demand and budged plan of the governmental and public organizations.
- Provide the information through the Internet website.
- Publicize the demand forecast for fire-fighting industry, hold conferences.
International Activity
In order to respond to the global trend and improve international competitive power of local industry, KFI's activities are focused on ISO activities, technical cooperation with foreign testing institutes, and duties of an authorized national test institute.
Provide Technical Information
As the managing organization of Korean Fire-fighting Industry Committee, KFI is participating in the development of international standards and internationalization of
domestic technologies.

Technical Cooperation and Exchange with Foreign Test Institutes
KFI is helping the fire-fighting industry to save time and money by providing the industry with certification test service, on the basis of the Agreement for Technical Cooperation and Follow-up Management (Factory Audit) with FMRC and mutual agency agreement with UL. KFI will sign more agreements to develop the fire-fighting industry of Korea.
